My work has been published in numerous national, state, and local newspapers and magazines. I have been a firefighter/first responder for over 8 1/2 yrs, currently on the Rockaway Borough FD. My photo interests date back to when I was 16 in high school and have continued since. I would like to thank a few people for their guidance in the beginning days of my fireground photography. Mike Coppola, Adam Alberti, and Tommy Bilancia get a lot of credit for the quality of photos I take today, THANKS GUYS!

5/27/2008 Rockaway Boro Tree Down : Approx 5pm a severe storm blew through the area taking trees and wires down.  One tree landed on top of a car in front of 100 Hibernia Ave trapping 2 occupants.  The Rockaway Boro Fire Dept responded and confirmed no injuries and awaited JCP&L to secure the live wires entangled in the tree.  Once secure the Fire Dept used chainsaws to free the occupants who were unhurt and then checked out by the Rockaway Twp Fire Dept first aiders who responded mutual aid. Photos by Joe "Doc" Domzalski

5/3/08 Roxbury Twp 94 Dell Ave : Roxbury CO's 1,2,and 3 were dispatched for a fire at the old Kenvil Concrete plant.  Chief Alberti arrived on scene to find a vacant 2 1/2 story well involved.  I/C advised this would be a exterior attack only and called for a tanker task force.  While the task force was e/r the roof over the main portion of the bldg collapsed.  I/C initially requested Netcong F.A.S.T. and Jefferson Co#2 tanker.  Jefferson tanker was put to work on the C/D site with 4 lines and was the dump site pumper. Tanker task force included Mt. Arlington, Chester, Budd Lake, Rockaway Twp, and Mendham Twp.  Wharton secured a draft site for the tankers.  Randolph secured a hydrant and worked with Roxbury to lay almost a mile of LDH for water supply. Once the fire was k/d a excavator was called in to open up the rest of the bldg while the MCPO Arson Squad and MCSO CIS investigated.

4/21/08 Denville Twp Medevac : At approx 5pm a motorist came across a downed bicyclist at Roberts and Arden Rds.  The 15 y/o cyclist from Boonton appeared to have fallen and struck his head on the curb.  Denville EMS arrived and assessed the victim finding a significant head injury and summoned for aeromedical transport.  All 3 Companies arrived at the field adjacent Pocono Rd. to secure the LZ for Northstar.  Special thaks to NELSON COOK for all photos.

3/6/08 Boonton Twp 590 Rockaway Valley Rd. : Fire was in a 2 1/2 sty 40x40 SFD.  Boonton Twp led off with 2 lines and found a fire in a upstairs bedroom that was quickly extinguished.  Denville FD was m/a and took the hydrant for water supply and sent a crew to the roof for ventillation.  Town of Boonton provided FAST coverage.  Sorry for the low quality I literally just got back from A.C. and only had my back-up digtial camera on me.

2/23/08 Denville Past Chief Hobie Erickson's Funeral : Past Department Chief Hobart "Hobie" Erickson Jr was laid to rest Saturday February 23rd, 2008.  Chief Erickson started his fire service career with the Denville Fire Department June 9, 1970.  For the past 38 years Chief Erickson was a very active member holding the following positions: Dive Lieutenant, Dive Captain, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, 3rd Assistant Chief, 2nd Assistant Chief, 1st Assistant Chief, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, and Department Chief in 1991.  Chief Erickson also served as Senior Assistant Chief of the Greystone Park Fire Department and served 40 years in the New Jersey Forest Fire Service with 25 years as the District Warden in Section A.
Over 150 firefighters and 20 plus apparatus showed up to pay respects on this cold snowy morning, lining both sides of the road at the funeral home.  
Chief Erickson rode his final call on the Department's 1928 American LaFrance antique to a local cemetery.

12/7/07  Randolph Twp 7 Sandy Ln : This fire came in at about 1140hrs for a fire in the residence.  Upon arrival companies were met with heavy fire conditions involving the 1st and 2nd flrs of the Alpha and Bravo exposures of a 2 1/2 story private residence.  Companies made a good stop, chased some minor hot spots around, vented, and overhauled.  Randolph was assisted by Denville and Roxbury Fire Dept's, and Atlantic Health care was assisted with EMS by Denville and Mendham Twp FAS.

6/17/07 215 Everett Rd Parsippany, NJ : This afternon fire started in the basement from a soldering iron.  Initial companies were Lake Parsippany Districts 3 & 6.  COmpanies were able to knock down the bulk of the fire but fire, being as stubborn as fire is was finding it's way through the walls and void spaces.  Districts 1 and 5 were soon brought in to assist.

2/26/07 Roxbury BVR Fire : Fire started from a welders spark in a auto shop.  The stubborn fire was being fed by acetylene tanks and paint stored in the rear.  A tanker shuttle was established due to no hydrants in the area.  Mutual aid included Picatinny Arsennal, Mt. Arlington, Jefferson Co's 1 and 2, Rockaway Twp, Budd Lake, Wharton and Mine Hill.

3/2005 Rockaway Borough BookStore : Fire was located in the 2nd floor of a 3 story mixed occupancy that was attached to numerous storefronts.  Numerous mutual aid was recieved from Picatinny Arsennal, Rockaway Twp, and Dover as this had the potential to take the whole row.  Fire was located and extinguished in a very cluttered 2nd flr apartment after crews opend up and cleared some debris from the area.  This fire was when I was still shooting 35mm and converting toi disk.

3/2006 Hopatcong Brooklyn Mtn Rd. : Fire was located in a 2 1/2 story private residence.  Fire appeared to have started in the garage wither a possible water heater or boiler problem.  All 3 companies operated at this fire containing it to the rear and garage area.  This was one of several fire I was still shooting 35mm and converting to disk.
