12/21/08 Roxbury 105 Orben Dr : Initial 9-1-1 calls came into the Morris County Communications Center from residents on Rogerine Way for a large priv residence with flames showing from the roof.  MTAFD was dispatched and Roxbury PD o/s advised MTAFD Chief Norman that it was their jurisdiction.  MTAFD was already e/r and went to work as 1st due.  Quint 6 dropped a 5" supply line and laid into the long driveway while Engine 7 established a draft point at Lake Rogerine due to frozen hydrants.  Roxbury units arrived o/s, established a unified command, and assisted with initial fire attack while Q-6 put their stick to the roof for vent ops.  Picatinny Arsennal was called for F.A.S.T. but was quickly put to work on the interior, bringing out Netcong for F.A.S.T.  Fire appeared to have started in the chimnney area and quickly spread through the attic area, but is still under investigation.  St. Clares's EMS-83 treated 2 firefighters for minor injuries.

7/29/08 Wharton Borough 423 N. Main St. : The Dept. was dispatched for a possible fire in the attic of a 2 story priv. residence.  Chief 1 arrived to find heavy smoke pushing from the eaves and windows.  A general alarm was struck and mutual aid from Picatinny Arsennal and Mine Hill Twp was requested.  Crews made a aggressive interior attack and knocked the bulk of the fire down.  This was the last fire for the Wharton's Snorkel as their new mid-mount is now in service.

5/27/2008 Rockaway Boro Tree Down : Approx 5pm a severe storm blew through the area taking trees and wires down.  One tree landed on top of a car in front of 100 Hibernia Ave trapping 2 occupants.  The Rockaway Boro Fire Dept responded and confirmed no injuries and awaited JCP&L to secure the live wires entangled in the tree.  Once secure the Fire Dept used chainsaws to free the occupants who were unhurt and then checked out by the Rockaway Twp Fire Dept first aiders who responded mutual aid. Photos by Joe "Doc" Domzalski

5/3/08 Roxbury Twp 94 Dell Ave : Roxbury CO's 1,2,and 3 were dispatched for a fire at the old Kenvil Concrete plant.  Chief Alberti arrived on scene to find a vacant 2 1/2 story well involved.  I/C advised this would be a exterior attack only and called for a tanker task force.  While the task force was e/r the roof over the main portion of the bldg collapsed.  I/C initially requested Netcong F.A.S.T. and Jefferson Co#2 tanker.  Jefferson tanker was put to work on the C/D site with 4 lines and was the dump site pumper. Tanker task force included Mt. Arlington, Chester, Budd Lake, Rockaway Twp, and Mendham Twp.  Wharton secured a draft site for the tankers.  Randolph secured a hydrant and worked with Roxbury to lay almost a mile of LDH for water supply. Once the fire was k/d a excavator was called in to open up the rest of the bldg while the MCPO Arson Squad and MCSO CIS investigated.

4/21/08 Denville Twp Medevac : At approx 5pm a motorist came across a downed bicyclist at Roberts and Arden Rds.  The 15 y/o cyclist from Boonton appeared to have fallen and struck his head on the curb.  Denville EMS arrived and assessed the victim finding a significant head injury and summoned for aeromedical transport.  All 3 Companies arrived at the field adjacent Pocono Rd. to secure the LZ for Northstar.  Special thaks to NELSON COOK for all photos.

3/6/08 Boonton Twp 590 Rockaway Valley Rd. : Fire was in a 2 1/2 sty 40x40 SFD.  Boonton Twp led off with 2 lines and found a fire in a upstairs bedroom that was quickly extinguished.  Denville FD was m/a and took the hydrant for water supply and sent a crew to the roof for ventillation.  Town of Boonton provided FAST coverage.  Sorry for the low quality I literally just got back from A.C. and only had my back-up digtial camera on me.
